Customs Clearance Services

Martintrux arrange customs clearance through HMRC for non-EU consignments, at all UK Airports, Ports, and designated Inland Clearance locations. We have experience of traffic to and from every continent, for a vast range of commodities. Our objective is to produce and submit import and export customs declarations accurately and efficiently, prepared in advance, to a standard which prompts release of non-EU consignments through controls in minimum times following presentation, leaving no room for subsequent challenge from any Authority; whilst ensuring Traders pay the correct Duty and Import VAT or discharge their liabilities at Export, and obtain, or are aware of, any potential benefits which may be available for their particular goods and circumstances.

Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs police United Kingdom Customs Clearance Declarations primarily for revenue and statistical purposes, to rules and regulations laid down by the European Commission of the EU, and also act for, and in conjunction with, many other Government Departments, such as: Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS); Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Department for Transport –  and local authorities, such as Port Health.  Martintrux are able to advise exactly what Traders need to consider in order for their consignments to be released from controls.

We are keen to ensure our clients understand customs implications for their non-EU trades; both here in the UK and abroad for their customers or suppliers.  Clients are able to discuss their aims and requirements with us in complete confidence; the more we understand their businesses, the more we can advise which Customs Regimes, Preference Agreements, or alternate strategies might reduce their costs.  UK and EU rules and regulations, including Free Trade or Preferential Trade Agreements, are constantly under review and we take every opportunity to keep our clients advised of any points which may affect them.

Martintrux hold HM Revenue and Customs accreditation as an AEO – Authorised Economic Operator; our processes and systems are regularly audited.  AEOs are recognised throughout the European Union and some other countries, as being trusted for minimum scrutiny.

We hold our own Deferment Account to assist Importers without their own facility to account Import Duties and VAT, and operate a significant Community Transit Guarantee to enable Exporters to move T1 Status goods (or T2 Transit) from the UK.
